Active Isolated Stretching (AIS): MATTES Method

What is Active Isolated Stretching?

AIS is a stretching technique to increase flexibility and blood, nerve and lymph circulation, relieve pain, improve posture, obtain optimal muscle, tendon, ligament and fascial function, and release muscle trauma/adhesions and nerve impingement. AIS was developed by Aaron Mattes 45 years ago and has been highly successful in increasing athletic performance and preventing/rehabilitating certain injuries (tendonitis, bursitis,  /surgeries. As a neuromuscular re-education modality, AIS helps rehabilitate those with post-polio, CP, MS, ALS, Parkinsons, scoliosis and stroke. AIS exercises are performed in the fascial plane, the same plane that the organ energy meridians (Chinese medicine) are embedded, thus AIS opens up the pathway of flow of nutrition and blood to all organs.

AIS for the UPPER BODY helps correct: forward head, whiplash, wryneck, military neck, the latest diagnosis “text neck” dowager's hump, humpback (kyphosis), Bell's palsy, scoliosis, and can relieve thoracic outlet, rotator cuff, TMJ, tennis elbow, golfers elbow, de Quervains tenosynovitis, wrist sprain, carpal tunnel, Dupytrens contracture, trigger finger.

Six 1-hour UPPER BODY classes $120

B. AIS for the LOWER BODY helps correct/alleviate pain from: paraplegia, scoliosis, sciatica, lordosis (swayback) IT band, pulled hamstring, chondromalacia patella, meniscus tears, shin splints, Osgood- Schlatter's plantar fasciitis, clubfoot, dropfoot, ankle sprain, flatfoot, bunions, hammertoe and can prevent surgeries such as hip replacement and plantar fasciitis. Post rehab for knee and hip replacement.

Eight 1-hour LOWER BODY classes $160

For class to take place, 4 registrants are required. Per class rate is $20. If your class is not complete, then we will inform you of alternative day/time or refund you.
